How do I choose the right Oliver?

Modified on Fri, 7 Aug at 4:44 PM

How many Olivers do you need?

We don't offer ten different models to choose from.

We offer one.

A proven, reliable system designed to do exactly what it should.

So the question isn't, "Which planter should I choose?"

It's: "How many Olivers do you want?"

How many Olivers make sense?

You can absolutely start with just one.

The Oliver Solo base module gives you:

  • an easy way to get started
  • minimal maintenance
  • the perfect way to get familiar with the system

Oliver Solo includes everything you need to get growing, including the power adapter.

That said, there's one thing worth keeping in mind.

At some point, you'll harvest your plants. Then it's time to start a new growing cycle.

With a single Oliver, that means a short break between harvests.

If you'd rather:

  • enjoy a continuous supply of fresh herbs
  • harvest regularly instead of all at once

it makes sense to have at least two Olivers—or even more—so you can stagger your growing cycles.

A modular system that grows with you

Oliver planters are fully modular, so you can place them side by side or stack them vertically.

And yes—vertical growing is just as practical as it sounds.

If space is limited (and whose isn't?), stacking lets you:

  • save valuable space
  • grow more plants in a smaller area
  • make the most of apartments and compact kitchens

Your plants grow. Your footprint doesn't.

One cable. Not six.

We've put a lot of thought into cable management.

Multiple Olivers can be connected together, so:

  • you don't need a separate power cable for each planter
  • the entire setup is powered as a single system

In practice:

  • up to 3 Olivers can be powered by the included 45 W adapter that comes with Oliver Solo
  • 4 to 6 Olivers require the more powerful 100 W adapter, which is automatically included with sets of four or more Olivers

If you're expanding your setup over time, keep in mind that once you reach four Olivers, you'll also need the 100 W adapter.

Oliver Expand includes the mounting kit needed to connect multiple planters together. The power adapter is not included because the module is designed to become part of an existing connected setup.
