Routine maintenance: cleaning the water reservoir

Modified on Fri, 7 Aug at 4:46 PM

Oliver is designed to take care of most things on its own. But like any living system, it appreciates a little maintenance from time to time.

The main part of routine maintenance is cleaning the water reservoir. It's essential for keeping the system running smoothly and your plants healthy.

We recommend cleaning the reservoir every 14–21 days.

Before you start

Before cleaning:

always unplug Oliver from the power outlet

It's a simple safety step that protects both you and your device.

Cleaning the water reservoir

Clean the reservoir by hand:

  • using lukewarm water
  • without harsh cleaning products

A quick rinse and gentle wipe are all it takes.

What to avoid

To keep the reservoir in good condition, don't use:

  • abrasive cleaning products
  • steel wool or scouring pads
  • the rough side of a sponge
These can damage the surface and reduce the reservoir's lifespan.
